Saturday, August 21st ICWDA Monthly Dance

Saturday night dance is 7:30 - 11:00pm at the Boise Square and Round Dance Hall in Boise.

Couples Dance Lesson 7:30 – 8:30pm.

8:30p – 11:00p Open dancing. Practice your Country 2 Step, WCS, ECS, Night Club 2 Step, Cha Cha, Waltz, 10 Step, Triple 2 Step, Polka, and anything that I may have left out.

Cost is $5 for members of ICWDA and $7 for non-members, $5 for seniors, $3 seniors members, students $5, student members $3 Show Military ID get in FREE.

Saturday, August 21st Boise Contra Dance Society's 3rd Saturday dance

8pm to 11pm.  A new dancer orientation will start at 7:30pm. Live music provided by Contraband [ID], with

calling by Gary Nafziger-Meiser.

The dance is held at the Broadway Dance Studio, 893 E. Boise Ave, just east of Apple Street near Timberline High School.

Cost is $8 for adults ($6 for BCDS or Idaho Folklore Society members), and $3 for youth 10-18 years.

Couples, singles and children over 10 yrs old are welcome; partners are not necessary.

The dance venue is smoke and alcohol free.

Saturday, August 28th, Treasure Valley Western Dance Association Dance.

Beginning at 7:00 at the Boise Square and Round Dance Hall;
FREE COUNTRY WESTERN DANCE with a difference...the only country dance in the Boise Valley that welcomes families with children of all ages and will play requested music all evening long. Though based on country music we will have a variety of music, so dancers of all types are encouraged to come and dance with us. We will even have a few pop songs for the children. We may even teach a mixer or two and a quick line dance.

Saturday, September 4th, USA Dance 1st Saturday Dance “I Just Want to Dance With You

Lori Gonzales will teach Cha Cha  from 7-8. Open dancing to follow until 11p. Dress is casual.

Now, HDSDC dances Two nights a week Upstairs at Bull’s Head!

The High Desert Swing Dance Club has returned Sundays to Bull’s Head upstairs, and will teach a lesson before the dance! We will be having a lesson and social dancing at the Bull’s Head Pub, 1441 N. Eagle Rd. (corner of Eagle and FairviewMeridian) every Sunday along with Tuesday, a one-hour free dance lesson will be provided by the Pub at 7:00 pm, prior to social dancing. Please join us at this non-smoking dance venue that includes a bar and restaurant.  Sundays and Tuesdays are both upstairs in the bar.

Idaho Country Western Dance Association is hosting two  additional dances each month.

They will be held during the week at Boise senior Activities Center (just off Fort St. and Northeast of Elks Rehab).

They are Country-Western dances and will be on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. They will have a dance lesson prior to the open dance just like there monthly dances.

The Activity Center has a huge, smoke free, air-conditioned, hard-wood, floating dance floor, and lots of fun loving people to dance with. ICWDA will be DJ-ing the music for both dances, featuring a wide variety of music, so come on out and dance your Country-two, Night Club-two, East Coast, West Coast, Cha, Hustle, and many other pattern or line-dances. Price $4 for everyone. Weekly Club dance nights!
The High Desert Swing Dance Club will be teaching social dancing at the Bull’s Head Pub, 1441 N. Eagle Rd. Lessons in Dance

Thursday nights, July 15th through September 2nd

Beginner West Coast Swing (7:00 -8:00 pm)

This class will explore the 6-count and 8-count basic rhythm structures of West Coast Swing and establish a solid foundation of the basics in order to progress to the Intermediate level of the dance. This 8-week session will be $50 per person. Register for this class

The Monday night Intermediate Drop-in West Coast Swing class will be moved to the Quarter Barrel for the month of July.  The Quarter Barrel is a non-smoking bar in Garden City next door to the Boise army Navy Store.  It used to be Mr. Lucky’s and the Turf Club and the address is 4902 W. Chinden.  The class will be $10 per person or $15 per couple and will be from 7:00 – 8:30 pm.  Open social dancing will follow from 8:30 - 10:00 pm.  PLEASE come out and support this new venue so that we may be invited to dance on other nightsJ

July and August Group Class Schedule

West Coast Swing Drop-in Class and Practice Session (7:00 -8:30 pm)
This class is designed for those that already know the basic 6 and 8-count rhythm structures of West Coast Swing and want to improve their dance and partnering with EVERY dance partner. This class will focus on bringing your dance to the next level and making yourself look confident on the dance floor. Each one and a half hour session will be $10 per person or $15 per couple. Register for this class

Idaho Ballroom Dance Center at Limelight
Beginner ballroom group lessons are friday nights
7:00 – 7:30 followed by the Friday dance party. They will cover American Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Cha-Cha, Rhumba, and swing. Beginners are welcome to join this class at any point. There is no beginning or end to this course. Level will vary based on those in attendance. These will be taught by Martha Bradford Pohl. The cost is $10 per person per session.
Not a beginner? Intermediate ballroom group class every Wednesday
8:00 to 9:30 p.m.
Advanced ballroom group class every Monday 7:45 to 9:15 p.m.
The cost is $20 per person per session. Lessons accrue if you miss any sessions.

Lori will be starting Social Success Packaged Program for Beginners

Summer Sampler Drop-in Classes. Fridays, 7:00-7:45
Starting on July 20th, Lori will be starting beginning Foxtrot.
She will cover the basic material in the core 8 dances in 16 weeks. Students meet the first  4 Tuesdays of the month.

Class includes:

*Four (4) one hour classes per month.

*Free 30 minute practice after class.

Social Success for Beginners is the preparatory step before enrolling into the intermediate class.

Dance shoes are recommended.

You will be ready to go two seconds before your class starts!

Practice night every Tuesday 8:30-9:30

$5.00 per person. Social Success students practice FREE!

Bronze (Social) Level Intermediate Class, Tuition is $50.00 per person per month.

Argentine Tango

Thursday Practica  NEW LOCATION -- Boise Cafe (formerly Café Bellissima), 10th & Bannock. 8:00 - 10:00 pm. Beginner lesson 8-8:30 pm. Join us at the newly-renovated cafe. Students of the Somer & Agape workshop will be practicing techniques they learned, and everyone is welcome to join in. DJ Philip Wheeler; instructor Marge Dobie. All skill levels welcome, no partner necessary. Beer and wine available for purchase. Fee $5 or $3 for students & seniors.

New class sessions begin Tuesday, May 12th at the Broadway Dance Center.
The Tango Fundamentals class begins at
7:00 pm and the Intermediate class begins at 8:15 pm.
Classes will run for three weeks and the fee is $10 per class or $25 for a 3-class session.

Registration available at the door. No dance partner necessary.
