Saturday, Febuary 4th, USA Dance Monthly Dance

Friday Febuary 10th, Cathedral of the Rockies Valentine’s dance

Live music by Authentic Imitation.

Night Club 2 Step dance lesson at 6:45, Dance starts at 7:30;

717 N. 11th St., Boise (behind Boise High School), enter on 12th st.

Singles Dance and Social (couples welcome) $8 per person, $15 for 2 people.

Beginning at 6:30 at the Boise Square and Round Dance Hall; 6:30, with music playing till 11:00 pm.

FREE COUNTRY WESTERN DANCE with a difference...the only country dance in the Boise Valley that welcomes families with children of all ages and will play requested music all evening long. Though based on country music we will have a variety of music, so dancers of all types are encouraged to come and dance with us. 5:30p Doors open, music starts for Line-dancers with Arlene teaching until 6:30p.
Practice from 6:30p-7:00p
At 7:00p we will switch over to couples dancing and a "warm-up" time until 7:30p.
7:30p-8:30p is the couples dance lesson taught by various local professional dance instructors.

Saturday, March 24th Boise Contra Dance Society's dance.

8pm to 11pm.  A new dancer orientation will start at 7:30pm. Live music provided by The Bru, with calling by House Callers. The dance is held at the Broadway Dance Studio, 893 E. Boise Ave, just east of Apple Street near Timberline High School.

Cost is $8 for adults ($6 for BCDS or Idaho Folklore Society members), and $3 for youth 10-18 years.

Couples, singles and children over 10 yrs old are welcome; partners are not necessary.

The dance venue is smoke and alcohol free.

Sunday Nights at Varsity Pub (formally Bull’s Head Pub), 1441 N. Eagle Rd. (near corner of Eagle Rd. and Fairview Ave.Meridian).  Free beginner lessons taught by HDSDC board members from 7:30 to 8:15 pm, followed by social dancing until 9:30 pm.  Varsity Pub is temporarily closed but they open just for us at about 7:15 pm every Sunday.  Non-smoking and alcohol-free.  Click here for our Dance Calendar

The High Desert Swing Dance Club will be teaching social dancing at the Varsity Pub, 1441 N. Eagle Rd. Group Class Schedule

Monday nights, December 5th through January 30th

Intermediate West Coast Swing Drop-in Class 7:00 - 8:15 pm
Continue to explore the versatility of West Coast Swing and bring your dance to the next level. You must be very familiar with the 6 and 8-count rhythm structures of the dance in order to participate in this class. Each session will be $10 per person or purchase a punch card of 10 classes for $85.

Beyond Beginner West Coast Swing 8:15 - 9:30 pm
This class will continue to explore the basic 6 and 8-count rhythm structures of West Coast Swing while exposing you to a significant amount of variations in the dance. We will focus on learning variations of the basic patterns and partnering skills. $75 for the nine-week series or $10 per session.

Idaho Country Western Dance Association and the Buffalo Club are teaming together with an offer of FREE Beginner Dance Lessons Tuesday and Thursday nights 7:30 till 8:30.

 

Beginning Social Dance West Boise YMCA

Randy Lattimer Randy & Linda teach private dance lessons for those who want to learn basic country dances and line dances. 

They also teach group country dance lessons in Meridian. 

Randy teaches line dance lessons each Tuesday at Broadway Dance Center from 7:15 to 9:15 for $5.

R2L2 Dance is also available to DJ your party. They also have a portable dance floor that can be rented for outdoor use.

Idaho Ballroom Dance Center at Limelight
Beginner ballroom group lessons are Friday nights 7:45 – 8:30 followed by the Friday dance party 8:30 – 9:30. They will cover American Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Cha-Cha, Rhumba, and swing. Beginners are welcome to join this class at any point. There is no beginning or end to this course. Level will vary based on those in attendance. These will be taught by Martha Bradford Pohl. The cost is $10 per person per session.

Not a beginner? Intermediate ballroom group class every Wednesday 8:00 to 9:30 p.m.
Advanced ballroom group class every Monday 7:45 to 9:15 p.m.
The cost is $20 per person per session. Lessons accrue if you miss any sessions.

Argentine Tango

Every Thursday- 7:00 to late- at The Press, upstairs at 765 Idaho Street, downtown Boise, hosted by The Boise Tango Society, generally provides a warm up lesson from 8:00 to 9:00 and open practice afterwards. Those new to Argentine Tango are welcome. It is not necessary to bring a partner. For info call 208-870-7226. $5.00 for both lesson and Practica.

Every Sunday- 3:00 to 5:00- Informal Practice and instruction at the Downtown YMCA. Free.   YMCA membership not required for this event.

Wednesdays Beginning Tango Class at the Fort Boise Community Center, 700 Robins Rd. Boise at 7:00- 8:15.  A free introductory class will be held on Thursday, Jan 18th, 2013. Approximately 25 dancers from Boise attended the Mountain Magic dance festival in South Lake Tahoe, NV. From the Boise dancers, our very own Sheila won 2nd place in the 101 Newcomer! Jennifer took 3rd place in NC2 Pro/AM. It was reported to be the most fun and most affordable event attended by our dancers.
